A short drive from State College, the Old Gregg School Community & Recreation Center (OGS) is regarded locally as a treasure in the heart of Penns Valley.  Located just off scenic PA route 45, at the Spring Mills exit, the historical landmark building and grounds are easy to spot at the corner of School Street and West Firehall Road.

"In the tradition of recycle and reuse, Penns Valley recently took this idea to new levels when the school district decided to close one of its elementary schools. Old Gregg School is a building that has been repurposed to once again serve the Penns Valley community. It is now home to a daycare center, a free library, office space for start up businesses, athletic recreation and classes, and, in the winter months, a farmer's market. Our beloved "Old Gregg School" has been a bustling with activity community and recreation center since 2006.  It serves as a local non-profit venue, offering many different community services and activities for all ages.  Some of these opportunities are available at no cost, while others have a nominal fee associated with them.

Home to Old Gregg School's "Producers Only" Indoor Farmers Market from early October through mid-December (and early April through early May) our Old Gregg School indoor gymnasium and stage space is available for board approved guests to use as a venue space rental on Saturdays during Old Gregg School Farmers Market hours, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, as well as for other days and times, and for when the farmers market is not in session during the rest of the year.

Our Old Gregg School gymnasium and stage, and other spaces throughout our building and its grounds, are available as venue space rentals for board approved activities.  Many groups and individuals have found our center to be a desirable and affordable venue. Old Gregg School can be utilized as a venue for wedding receptions, fitness, dance and exercise classes, team athletic practices, community group gatherings and non-profit events, chef demos, artisan and craftsmen displays and sales, book signings, various types of workshops, home business expos, craft shows, quarter auctions, bingos and other fundraisers, as well as approved musical performances.
