Vision Statement of Old Gregg School
Community and Recreation Center
|
For over 80 years the Old Gregg School building in Spring Mills educated children and young adults throughout eastern Penns Valley in the values and responsibilities of community and service. The traditions of the historic Old Gregg School (OGS) will be celebrated and expanded in the Old Gregg School Community & Recreation Center, a multi-purpose facility benefiting the entire Penns Valley Community.
Supporting small businesses with affordable office space, athletic facilities for recreation, open space for meetings and events, and lovingly maintained grounds and outdoor play areas, Old Gregg School Community and Recreation Center is a treasure in the heart of the Valley.
Our community and recreation center currently includes a licensed preschool and pre-K facilities for working families, affordable office space for various start-ups and non-profits within a short commute of State College (with free, wireless internet available), certified kitchen facilities for rental use by local food businesses and other groups, a lending library supported by various local Scout organizations, low-cost basketball and exercise facilities, and an adult fitness center.
The future is open to the vision of the community as a whole as Old Gregg School Community and Recreation Center carries a tradition of community service into a new century.
Run by an ALL-Volunteer Advisory Board, Old Gregg School Community and Recreation Center holds its advisory board meetings on the FIRST THURSDAY of every month at 7:00 pm to discuss issues, contracts, ideas and various topics of concern.
